Certified translator after attending an intensive practical course in translation – En/It/Mt organised by Societa` Dante Alighieri. Pass mark: Distinction.
Certified in SDL Trados translation tools. Hands on experience with Translator's Workbench, TagEditor, WinAlign and MultiTerm.
Knowledgeable also in Across Language Server and has Across Personal Edition for freelance translators.
Certified T.E.F.L. (Teaching of English as a Foreign Language) tutor by international teacher training centre, Geos English Language Centre. Pass mark: B.
Certified E.C.D. L (European Computer Driving Licence) Fast Track, which is internationally recognised. In process of getting certified in each of the 7 individual modules.
Books
I translated a book about a Maltese village 'Qrendi - Storja b'żewġ lingwi ta' ġrajjiet Raħal Malti/Essays on the History of a Maltese Village' written by Andrew N. Welsh and published by Din l-Art Ħelwa.
Affiliations
Since there is no affiliation for Maltese translators locally, it is important to be involved in national organisations closely related to the Maltese Language. I am a member of the following; Il-Kunsill Nazzjonali tal-Ktieb (The National Book Council) and Din l-Art Ħelwa (Heritage Organization).
